Tyonna Recognized for a Great Season

The Journal News has named Tyonna as Honorable Mention Selection to their 2008 Girls Track and Field ALL-STAR team. This is a great honor for Ty and Hamilton. The selections were made by the Journal News and local coaches. Girls were selected from various schools across the section, from all Class sizes.

Congrats to Tyonna (and Happy Birthday!)

83 days

83 days and counting till AHHS  Cross Country returns to section 1 competition. The word was released today. The Hamilton Harriers will have their first test on Tuesday, September 16 against Dobbs Ferry. As if the opponent was not challenge enough, the team will also get their first look at the hills of Van Cortlandt park, the "Mecca" of east coast cross country running. Check in here to get the latest on the return of cross country to Hamilton.

Time to get excited, time to watch the best in the world, time to be amazed, time to feel humble. This weekend in Eugene Oregon is the USA Track and Field Olympic Trials. The best from this meet will represent the US at the China Olympics this August.

Season Closer

After a great experience in Buffalo, Tyonna and Marcus closed out the Hamilton Track Spring Season. They both performed well at the State Meet. Tyonna placed 8th in the 100m Hurdles and Marcus 11th in the Triple Jump. It is a real honor to compete on such a high level and we are all very proud of them.

As I said at the athletic awards night, it was a great season. The team rose to every challenge and surpassed our goals. As the summer approaches don't forget to check back here or grab the RSS feed to keep up to date with Track News relevant to our team.
